Forget sitting still. One song, one body, and six ways to move your way back into presence.

I never advise clients to just sit and meditate. We are so go-go-go that stillness can spike anxiety. The solution? Moving meditations.

I NEVER advise my clients and classes to just plop down and “meditate.”

95% of the time, trying to clear your mind just doesn’t work for us because we are SO

Go

Go

Go

That plopping into a cross-legged position and trying to stop our thoughts can create more anxiety. Because we can’t actually stop our thoughts, and then we get anxious because we think we suck at meditation.

Here’s the solution.

Get out of your head and into your body!

Moving Meditations

  1. Put on your favorite song
  1. DANCE. Just let loose. Move however feels good. Be silly. Be wild. Be sexy. Be ALL THE THINGS!
  1. Shake! Your hands. Your legs. Your ass. Your belly. Your boobs. Your hair. Your body! Our bodies jiggle and aren’t meant to be hard and contracted. Let go and let it jiggle! Embrace the jiggle. Love the jiggle. Shake the jiggle. Then giggle. 🤣
  1. Scream it out! It feels effing good to scream. Let it come from your belly.
  1. Stomp. Jump. Pound your feet into the ground to send the grounding vibrations up into your body. It feels good and is a somatic release.
  1. Shake your booty. Let go of control. We store so much crap in our pelvis that prevents us from surrendering — in life, in sexual pleasure, and in orgasm. Twerk it to werk it OUT! And if, for the love of everything holy, you can’t twerk (like me) just pretend and have fun with it! Be silly!

This is the fastest way to get out of your head and into your body. When you are done moving ALL OUT for one song, then find some stillness. Follow your breath. Let the body relax. Come into a comfortable position and let the nervous system come back to regulation. Let the energy flow through.

Just BE.
